Got A Painful Toothache?
Once a cavity has eroded through the tooth's enamel penetrating the nerve, the pain can be excruciating. If the toothache
is very severe and over-the-counter painkillers do not offer relief, call us 24 hours a day.
Fractured or Cracked Teeth?
Your teeth are composed of three distinct layers
; the enamel, dentin, and pulp. And dependent upon where a fracture, or crack occurs will determine the frequency and the degree of discomfort you experience.
Symptoms of a fractured or cracked tooth can vary from mild to severe pain. Sensitivity to the tooth can occur when biting something hard, or eating hot or cold food. The dentist will suggest treatment based on whether it was caused by trauma, an old filling, or tooth decay.
Sports Injuries & Accidents
An injury to a tooth during a sporting event can be traumatic. And whether it's sports-related, an auto accident, or some other cause of injury, it's important to know what to do quickly
for a good outcome.
If a permanent tooth has been knocked out completely
, place the tooth back into the socket if possible, or save it in some milk and seek immediate treatment by the dentist to re-implant the tooth. Knocked out baby teeth are not re-implanted because of potential harm to permanent teeth below.
Permanent teeth and/or primary (baby teeth) that have been loosened and moved from their normal position should receive treatment inside 6 hours. Teeth which have been chipped or broken are considered less urgent, yet require treatment within approximately 12 hours.
